If I recall correctly, CCP made it so that no freighter could carry a capital ship (though the caldari is the largest hangar of the freighters)

Why is it that when I put a repackaged ship into my carrier's ship hangar, it some how reassembles itself and takes up the assembled amount of space? In this case, my repackaged Occator seems to take up 290,000 m3 of space instead of the 20,000...
